Study Programs
Degrees at the institute
At the institute of sociology there are a multitude of different opportunities of study: The possibility of a bachelors degree either as a one-subject or a two-subject programm but a masters course and teaching degree (as the subject politics and society teaching at secondary schools) is also possible. These study programs are offered full-time or part-time. Studying sociology as minor subject is another option for students interested in sociology who are not interested in pursuing a whole degree. Teaching consists of lectures and seminars (Proseminar, Advanced Seminar and masters courses). The lectures (complemented by excercises) are designed to convey basic knowledge of sociology while the seminars center around discussions and scientific techniques with a much more concentrated supervision and focus.
